We are continually stunned by the speed at which the internet works. It’s barely twelve hours since the (excellent) season premiere of the final run of “Breaking Bad” aired, and already we have a cartoon spin-off from the episode. Sort of. If you’ve seen the episode already (and sort-of-spoilers ahead, we guess, though it’s your own fault for clicking through on this one), you’ll know that one of the highlights saw the return of Jesse’s layabout friends/associates Badger and Skinny Pete.
In what’s becoming a theme among prestige TV dramas (remember Paul Kinsey‘s “Star Trek” spec on “Mad Men“?), it saw Badger pitch his “Star Trek” fan fiction idea, a hilariously gruesome take that certainly would have livened up “Star Trek Into Darkness” (and finally given Anton Yelchin something to do in the new movies). And because this is 2013 and people have too much damn time on their hands, Vulture now have an animated version of Badger’s story. It’s a bit snake-eating-its-own-tail, but it’s brilliantly done, and very entertaining. Watch it below.
Looks like Bones is saying "He's dead, Jim" right at the end.
