The PMA post seems to suggest that there will be two “Tron Legacy” albums released concurrently: one with the movie’s score and another with the music that the duo has created for the “Tron” world. We’ve heard talk of a double album before, but this is the first we’ve heard of two separate releases. As for the duo themselves, it’s been long established that the robotic Frenchmen have a role in the movie, probably as the video game world’s resident deejays.
The music itself is the kind of throbbing, bubbly electro that we’ve come to expect from Daft Punk. They seem to be eschewing the darker vibe of 2005’s forgettable “Human After All” album in favor of the more poppy “Discovery” stuff. And the results are pretty phenomenal. Fuck the 10 minutes, we want the whole thing! (And just imagine it with that 3D sound!)
We’ve been hearing that, should the movie be the phenomenal success that Disney imagines it will be, there’s talk of outfitting the stateside theme parks with all sorts of “Tron” stuff (rides, dudes in nifty light-up suits, etc.). And hearing these 10 minutes made us think of how awesome it would be to listen to these spacey jams while riding Space Mountain in the park’s futuristic Tommorowland. Hey, it could happen.
When I went to Disneyland in 1985, there was a point on the WEDway Peoplemover where they projected imagery from Tron inside a tunnel. It was quite obvious they had intended to have a ride but the picture tanked.
thank god! daft punk thanks also to get back as good with that style. I was afraid of a repeat of some "Human After All." I think they have taken the right direction. this music is the deepest and "daft" (daft-punk) I've ever heard.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but your exclusive is bull. There will not be 2 soundtracks, these tracks are NOT from Tron Legacy. Just one of a hundred fake "leaks" of the tron soundtrack. Try this site for ACTUAL clips from the OST. http://blogs.1077theend.com/internbryce/2010/07/22/new-daft-punk-zomg/
Justice > Daft Punk.
And you know it's true.
The fact that it's been online for a day already means it's probably not real. Disney would have pulled that shit down like lightning.
Fake.
Fuck this shitty site and it's fucking hipster douche bag staff.
waaaah.
Still won't be better than The Dust Brothers' Fight Club score. The best electronic score ever.
"Still won't be better than The Dust Brothers' Fight Club score. The best electronic score ever"
