Hey wait, Susan Boyle is still a thing? You might remember a few years ago the singer took the world by storm on "Britain's Got Talent," belting out "I Dreamed A Dream" from "Les Miserables," and bringing down the house, earning pretty much overnight success. She has since gone on to sell millions of records, pack venues for her concerts and has had a stage musical mounted about her life. And now her story is headed to the big screen.
Fox Searchlight has picked up Boyle's life rights as well as those for the musical "I Dreamed A Dream" to develop a biopic about the singer. And that's about it for now. There's no writer, director or star attached just yet, but the ambition will be to make this "a sensitive and honest biopic" that will tell the story of a working class girl from Scotland who was suddenly launched into fame and acclaim, and how she learned to deal with it. So, basically your standard stuff.
Given that fellow reality show star Paul Potts also has his own biopic "One Chance" now shooting with James Corden in the lead, we guess 'movies on British reality singing show sensations' is now a trend. But whether or not these movies will have much traction outside the U.K. remains to be seen. But it's inspiring stuff, and if you need to be reminded of what captured the attention of the world in the first place, just watch below. [Deadline]
Wouldnât it be nice if we all had the perfect looks as Alex, Jesse and Sandra? I bet their walls are covered with pictures of themselves winning all those âMost Handsomeâ and âMost Beautifulâ awards! I know it will be difficult, but should any of you care to take a minute from admiring yourself, you may find it a surprise to see Susan Boyle as she is today. http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/176136/9
The only person who can play her is Jim Broadbent. Seriously, think about it.
They should get Robert Pattinson to play her. I'm pretty sure he sings and the resemblance is uncanny save for hair- he has straight while she has curls.. though the hair dresser should be able to solve that!
