And there came a day… a day just like any other… a day when Earth’s movie fans were presented with a mind-numbingly dull teaser trailer for a film property that hasn’t even made it in front of cameras yet…
Yes, it’s our first look (well, listen) at “The Avengers.” Sure, there’s no actual footage, but that’s not to deter Marvel from delivering us with the non-event of a trailer for their future team-up.
Led by a pulse-pounding voice-over from Samuel L Jackson in his Nick Fury persona, we watch a nearly completely black screen as we breathlessly listen to some stuff about heroes-teaming up to fight a villain that no single hero could face alone, and when we think this trailer couldn’t get any more amazing… we get to see the logo! There’s no word yet on if the logo will get its own spin off, or who will be voicing the logo in the film (we suggest Brad Garrett) but we nearly passed out from all the excitement. This embodies everything that irritates me about film marketing (specifically for the comic book/superhero properties) these days.
That "A" looks like a line that has bent down to suck its own cock.
In other words: it's perfect.
How can someone complain about this? This was made for comic con as an introduction to the panel. Its Sam Jackson speaking an iconic line from the books over a a very nice looking animation. They didn't HAVE to release this. They did because they new all the fans who didn;t go to comic con wanted to see it.
If anything, this teaser is 10000x better than the first The Dark Knight teaser.
cool…they have a logo ?!(irony)
Come on, guys. You're better than this. If it's so boring: DON'T POST A FREAKIN ARTICLE ABOUT IT.
