‘Tammy’s Always Dying’ Trailer: Felicity Huffman Is A Hard-Partying Woman With Only Months Left To Live

Losing a parent is one of the toughest moments in any person’s life. If you’re lucky, it comes after a long life and with very little pain or hardship. In the case of the family in “Tammy’s Always Dying,” a daughter’s relationship with her mother is very complicated, which makes a terminal diagnosis even more tragic.

As seen in the trailer for “Tammy’s Always Dying,” the film follows the story of Tammy, a woman that clearly has her best days behind her. She’s getting older, but she’s still partying like she’s a college kid and has a very tumultuous relationship with her daughter, who is apparently way more mature than her unruly parental figure. Their dynamic is thrown for a loop when Tammy receives a terminal diagnosis, giving her only mere months left to live.

The cast includes Felicity Huffman, Anastasia Phillips, Clark Johnson, Aaron Ashmore, Kristian Bruun, and Lauren Holly. “Tammy’s Always Dying” is written by Joanne Sarazen and directed by Amy Jo Johnson. Yes, that Amy Jo Johnson. If you’re someone that spent their formative years in the ‘90s, you probably remember Johnson as the first Pink Ranger from “Power Rangers.” In recent years, she’s stepped behind the camera, with her directorial debut, “The Space Between,” released in 2017.

Here’s the synopsis:

Every month, when the welfare money runs out, 35 year-old Catherine has to talk her self-destructive mother off the same bridge..literally. This routine has gone on for so long that it’s the only thing Cathy feels she is good at. And it’s Tammy’s selfish way of keeping hold of her daughter. When Tammy is diagnosed with terminal cancer and the possibility of life without her becomes very real, so does Cathy’s repressed desire to leave her small town. Does she stay and trust the woman who has always let her down or does she find the courage to live her own life?
