Got a Tip?

Sundance First Look: ‘Marjorie Prime’ Starring Jon Hamm, Mica Levi Scoring Film

To date, Mica Levi has only scored two feature films, but the results have been jaw dropping: Jonathan Glazer‘s “Under The Skin” and Pablo Larrain‘s “Jackie” (which topped our list of The 30 Best Film Scores & Soundtracks Of 2016). The score for the latter is earning deserved accolades, and if the young composer gets even busier because of it, that’s fine with us. And indeed, next month she’ll be unveiling another new film score in Park City.

FACT reveals that Levi is scoring director Michael Almereyda‘s (“Hamlet,” “Experimenter“) new film “Marjorie Prime,” which will make its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Starring Jon Hamm, Geena Davis, Lois Smith and Tim Robbins, the story sounds not unlike the “Black Mirror” episode “Be Right Back.” Here’s the official synopsis:

In the near future—a time of artificial intelligence—86-year-old Marjorie has a handsome new companion who looks like her deceased husband and is programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance?

The Sundance Film Festival runs from January 19-29, 2017.
