When poring over a crowded slate of promising movies, like those selected for the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. But Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia‘s "H." has already been been earning buzz before a frame has been screened. The pair have been nominated for the Someone To Watch Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards based on the strength of "H.," and today we’re exclusively unveiling the trailer.
Starring Robin Bartlett, Rebecca Dayan, Will Janowitz, Julian Gamble, and Roger Robinson, the movie tells the story of two Helens —a middle-aged woman and a younger artist— whose lives seemed touched by eerie, supernatural events. Here’s the synopsis:
In Troy, New York, two women, both named Helen, carry on seemingly complacent existences with their respective partners. Middle-aged Helen lives with husband Roy and finds comfort from a "reborn" baby doll. Meanwhile, successful young artist Helen is expecting a child with her noncommittal partner. Foreboding signs begin to appear: a meteor reportedly crashes nearby; people go missing; and inexplicable, life-altering changes spiral the Helens’ inert realities into a terrifying journey through unknown terrain.
"H." will have its world premiere in Park City on Sunday, January 25th at the Egyptian, playing as part of the NEXT slate of programming. Check out the trailer and poster below.
how many times will people use the same Arvo Part song in their trailers?
I really would like to know, what kind of music it is in the beginning, the one with the piano. Does anybody know? 🙂
To the comment above: it\’s interesting that you point out Arvo Part because that\’s all I could think as well. In fact, when The Place Beyond the Pines came out last year and used it, I was much too distracted by the use of that musical piece to appreciate the scene it supported.
Looks really fascinating. Tho I thought a moratorium on the Arvo Part had been in effect for years. TWBB ended the possibility of its use. It\’s like Blue Danube
