“Ms. Marvel”
Kamala Khan is a teenage superhero superfan, especially of Captain Marvel, but she doesn’t really fit in. Or she didn’t until she got superpowers of her own. Iman Vellani stars as the Pakastani teen living in New Jersey, and the cast includes Alysia Reiner, Matt Lintz, Anjali Bhimani, Rish Shah, Laurel Marsden, Yasmeen Fletcher, and Zenobia Shroff. Created by Bisha K. Ali (“Sex Education“), directors on the series include Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (“Bad Boys For Life“), Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon.
Premieres: June 8 on Disney+.
“For All Mankind” (Season 3)
Exploring an alternate history where Russia beat the U.S. in the space race by being the first to put a man on the moon, the first two seasons of ‘Mankind’ covered almost two decades, meaning season three will pick up in the early ’90s. Cast returning for the ten-episode third season includes Joel Kinnaman, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Shantel Vansanten, Cynthy Wu, and Casey Johnson.

“Peaky Blinders” (Season 6)
Created and written by Steven Knight, we haven’t seen anything new from the Irish-Romani gang since before the pandemic. Season five had wrapped and was released in the Fall of 2019, seeing Tommy Shelby’s (Cillian Murphy) political aspirations grow. Anya Taylor Joy and Tom Hardy return and the series is expected to immediately deal with the unexpected death of Helen McCrory who died of breast cancer at age 52 in 2021. While already out in the U.K., this final season will premiere in all-at-once bingeable form on Netflix and is said to tease a new movie or spin-off series.

“Fairfax” (Season 2)
An animated comedy series following four middle school friends and their quest for fame, the first season of “Fairfax” was loved for its accurate critiques of the trend-obsessed culture we live in which this upcoming season is sure to revisit. Skyler Gisondo, Kiersey Clemons, Peter S. Kim, and Jaboukie Young-White are set to return as the main clout-chasing quartet.

“God’s Favorite Idiot”
Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy’s run of high concept comedies turns toward a mini-series where a tech-support employee (Falcone) becomes the unwitting messenger of God. With a flock of mismatched co-workers and friends, (Kevin Dunn, Usman Ally, Steve Mallory, Chris Sandiford, Ana Scotney, and Yanic Truesdale) they must work together to save mankind and outwit Satan (Leslie Bibb).
Premiere Date: June 15, on Netflix.
“Love, Victor” (Season 3)
The Hulu spin-off of Greg Berlanti’s “Love, Simon,” is coming to an end with its third and final season. Victor (Michael Cimino) finds himself on a journey of self-discovery, identity and the big decisions after high school. The returning cast includes Rachel Hilson, Anthony Turpel, Bebe Wood, and Mason Gooding. One major difference: “Love, Victor” will finally be allowed on Disney+ as well.
Premiere Date: June 15 on Hulu and Disney+.
“The Old Man”
Created by Robert Levine and Jonathan E. Steinberg, in “The Old Man,” Jeff Bridges plays a former CIA officer living off the grid, who finds himself on the run from people who want to kill him. Co-starring John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat and Gbenga Akinnagbe, Jon Watts (Marvel’s “Spider-Man” franchise) directs the first two episodes of a series derailed by COVID and Bridges’ 2020 cancer scare.
