With “Game of Thrones” safely in the rearview mirror, HBO is going to expect a lot more out of the series that still populate the network’s lineup. That means shows that were previously under the radar will have to step up to help fill the void left by the behemoth. And one of those shows is “Succession.”
Created by Jesse Armstrong and Adam McKay, “Succession” actually shares quite a bit of DNA with “Game of Thrones.” Don’t laugh! Seriously, strip away the dragons, swords, and magic, and ‘Thrones’ is a political drama about family turmoil and the quest for power. Guess what? “Succession” is very much the same idea, as a media mogul family struggles to stay on top, while scheming and conniving their way to more power.

And in the trailer for Season 2, we catch up with the Roy family after the events of the last season. With an uncertain future ahead of them, the elitist family, filled with people that would no doubt slit your throat if they had to, struggles to keep control of their media empire.
And much like ‘Thrones,’ this family drama has a great group of actors that are doing damn good work bringing this story to life. The incredible ensemble cast for this drama series includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Hiam Abbass, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Peter Friedman, Rob Yang, J. Smith Cameron, Dagmara Dominczyk, and Arian Moayed.
