Earlier today, we reported about Steven Soderbergh updating the progress of “The Knick” Season 3. This work is on top of putting the finishing touches on his upcoming crime film, “No Sudden Moves.” But we all know Soderbergh isn’t the type of filmmaker to let a moment go by without something else in the works. With that in mind, Deadline has reported that Soderbergh has already lined up his next collaboration with HBO Max, a new thriller titled “KIMI.”
According to the report, Steven Soderbergh’s next film, after the aforementioned “No Sudden Moves,” is set to be “KIMI,” a new mystery thriller starring none other than Zoe Kravitz. The film, written by veteran screenwriter David Koepp, is said to follow the story of an agoraphobic tech worker that stumbles on some evidence of a violent crime over the course of a routine work project. However, she realizes that to get the information out about the crime, she will be required to conquer her fear and actually leave her apartment.
As mentioned, Soderbergh is a workhorse and is consistently juggling multiple projects at once. Last year, he released his first collaboration with HBO Max, the film “Let Them All Talk.” But before that film was released, he had already begun work on the crime thriller, “No Sudden Moves,” which has an incredible ensemble cast. Now, before that feature even has an official release date, it appears the filmmaker is ready to being work on “KIMI.”

Kravitz is currently working on the Warner Bros. superhero film, “The Batman,” in which she portrays the villain Catwoman, aka Selina Kyle. Recently, she also had the lead role in the underrated Hulu revival of “High Fidelity,” as well as the HBO series, “Big Little Lies.”
It’s unclear when production on “KIMI” might begin, but as we know, Soderbergh works fast, so it’s not crazy to imagine that we might see this feature arrive sometime before the end of the year. What we do know is that when it does get released, it is said to be an HBO Max exclusive.
