While Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence are gearing up rival Zelda Fitzgerald projects, Amazon has them beat on the small screen with the upcoming “Z: The Beginning Of Everything,” which puts Christina Ricci into the iconic role.
If you’ve been looking for a Jazz Age fix, the show seems to have it all as it tracks the famous other half of F. Scott Fitzgerald from New York to Paris, focusing on their relationship from its start in 1918. Here’s the official synopsis:
Z: The Beginning of Everything is a bio-series of the life of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, Southern Belle turned flapper, writer and icon of modern feminism. Starting right before Zelda meets unpublished writer F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1918, Z dives into the fascinating life of a woman ahead of her time and the story of the most famous, and infamous, couple of the Roaring 1920s.
Also starring David Hoflin, David Strathairn, Corey Cott, Jordan Dean, Natalie Knepp, Christina Bennett Lind and Holly Curran, “Z: The Beginning Of Everything” launches on January 27, 2017. [Deadline]
I’m glad someone is making use of Ms. Ricci’s talent. One of the most underused actors in cinema.
