Got a Tip?

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Star Daisy Ridley Eyed For ‘Tomb Raider’ Reboot

Star Wars: The Force AwakensThings have been quiet around the long developing "Tomb Raider" reboot. While MGM had been reportedly trying to find a woman to direct the picture, they eventually settled on Roar Uthaug, the helmer behind the Norwegian disaster movie "The Wave." But this franchise is really all about who takes the title role, so why not try and snag the brightest star rising at the moment to lead the way?

Deadline reports that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" star Daisy Ridley is among those being considered to topline "Tomb Raider." No word on who else is in the mix, or even who is writing the project, but it seems getting the star locked is the important first step. Of course, Ridley will be busy with "Star Wars" for the next few years, and likely well beyond, so who knows if she’ll want to have two franchises to handle, or if she’ll prefer to try different kinds of projects between her battles in outer space.

  1. Literally anyone in the entire world BUT Daisy Ridley. I would rather Adam Sandler in drag, "Jack and Jill-style" than watch her awkward and embarrassing "acting." She could be good at playing a bland love interest perhaps, but is completely unbeliveable in any kind of action role. Even she herself admitted J.J. Abrams called her acting "wooden" on the 1st day of filming. I couldn\’t agree more, which is why I would like a real actress in this iconic role, like Emma Watson?

Or better yet, why not go with some diverse casting, like Gugu Mbatha-Raw, so layered and real in Beyond the Lights or Rinko Kikuchi, who blew audiences away in Pacific Rim, and has yet to land a sole starring role in a mainstream Hollywood franchise. And no, I don\’t count Pacific Rim 2, because without Guillermo returning it could easily be terrible, and also the fact that her role is equal to Charile Hunnam\’s, one of my favorite aspects about that movie being the evenly distributed roles of the male and female co-leads. 🙂

  2. Kristen Stewart loses out on another big budget role. Too bad Marvel doesn\’t want her either. Love Daisy, she can do it all. Get that franchise money now, in 5 years you can write your own ticket and do whatever you want. Get it, girl!

  3. my god i hope not she is horrible bland actor and not attractive universally as thats a thing about Lara croft she has a buety to here and angline jolie had it back then but this girl needs to stay away if starwars was any indication how she acts and the best she can look
