When it was first announced back in February that Adam Driver had landed a villain role in “Star Wars: Episode 7,” we didn’t think much of how it might affect his work on “Girls.” **SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN ALL OF SEASON 3** But a few weeks later, when the season finale rolled out, with Adam and Hannah breaking up, we figured that, with both “Girls” and “Star Wars: Episode 7” shooting this spring/summer, it meant that Driver was exiting the HBO show. Not so.
Even with Hannah presumably off to Iowa to attend writing school, and Adam pursuing a Broadway career in New York City, Driver will still be in the mix. An HBO spokesperson has told Buzzfeed that the actor “is still a part of this show.” And yes, it was left that cryptically vague. But apparently, producers on both the show and movie are working things out so he can do both, since schedules will overlap, while Driver will likely rack up more air miles than he ever imagined going from the New York set of “Girls,” to the London sound stages of “Star Wars: Episode 7.”
So rest assured, Adam will be involved in Hannah’s life in some fashion when “Girls” returns next year.
Ok, so what about Scorsese's Silence? I'm stoked to see Driver acting along with Andrew Garfield and Liam Neeson in a Scorses directed movie.
I love Adam Driver in anything he does — even his small role in Lincoln, he shines!
They've been filming Girls season 4 around New York for almost a month now. I'm assuming they shot his scenes before he left for Star Wars
Any word on whether SW will prevent Driver from doing Scorsese's "Silence"?
