Got a Tip?

‘Star Wars 7’ Cast Now Official: Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Max Von Sydow, Harrison Ford & More

Star Wars: Episode VII Cast

Well, so much for the speculation, now it’s time to make it official. With a table read of J.J. Abrams‘ “Star Wars: Episode 7” happening this week, the cast has been officially revealed. And sorry Zac Efron, no role for you.

Instead, we’re looking at a lot of names that the trades have already reported—Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Peter Mayhew, and of course, the returning trio of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher—and there are some surprises too. Among them is mo-cap specialist Andy Serkis and stone cold veteran badass Max Von Sydow, along with rising actor Domhnall Gleeson and Daisy Ridley, who we’ve never heard of.

So, what will Disney share with fans on Star Wars Day this weekend? Perhaps the title?

“Star Wars: Episode 7” drops on December 18, 2015. Official press release and cast table-read photo below.

    Peter Mayhew is 'returning' too.
It's attitudes like that that meant he didn't get a medal after the Battle of Yavin.

  2. "Overwhelmed by all the support. This is the greatest day of my life. I'm told I can't say who I'm playing yet, but it's exciting!!", Ridley tweeted.

  3. After all that hoopla about diversity they end up with a non-diverse cast? I mean why say it's gonna be a diverse cast if the best you can do is throw a token black guy in there? Like for real. I was expecting an Indian or Korean or something "diverse" to be part of the cast. I wouldn't have had these expectation if they hadn't claimed to be casting diversity to represent the current times.

  4. Driver and Isaac will be the ones I'm watching. Too bad Lupita wasn't cast. With just one new female role, I would have preferred an actress with more presence, so she could hold her own in this sausage-fest.

  5. Lucas really went above and beyond to destroy the legacy of this franchise. First with those horrendous cgi edits to the originals, then with the miserable prequel trilogy. It's going to be very hard to redeem the series. Possible? Perhaps… likely… no.

  6. So, no Lupita? That's too bad. Altough it's still some sausage fest for now (except Carrie F.), so maybe they'll come up with some MAJOR female characters soon…

  7. Fun to see Adam Driver here.
Few years ago Len Dunham sounded extremely proud when she was saying she'd never seen any of the star wars movies.

The rest of the cast is definitely stellar (seewhatadid).
