Got a Tip?

Sony Will Reportedly Hear Your Idea For A ‘RoboCop’ Sequel

RobocopWhile critics loathed it, fanboys scoffed at it, and domestic audiences stayed away, the 2014 "RoboCop" remake/reboot did pretty decently overseas. In fact, the numbers helped push the movie to over $240 million worldwide, more than double the film’s budget. Not bad at all. That said, Sony hasn’t exactly been showing all that much interest in making another one, but apparently, they are not opposed to the idea.

Den Of Geek is reporting that the studio is open to pitches for another "RoboCop," but the site’s own report makes it seem like Sony is pretty half-hearted about the whole thing. Essentially, it’s not a high priority, but the door is still open, and basically it sounds like if they get the right idea that sparks enough excitement then maybe, possibly, they’ll make another one. Or not. And by the same token, whether or not Joel Kinnaman suits up is also a question mark.

This is all a long-winded way to say, if you have a "RoboCop" sequel script you banged out one night ramped up on Mountain Dew and Cheetos, get it into Sony’s hands, because who knows, maybe they’ll dig it.
