The only people, it seems, who enjoy endlessly going over the story of last November’s election more than the massively insecure President Of The United States, are, it seems Hollywood executives. We already know that the next season of “American Horror Story” will be election-themed, the team behind “Recount” and “Game Change” are developing a miniseries based around the Clinton/Trump race last year, and Annapurna and “Hurt Locker” writer Mark Boal are developing a project as well.
And now, another book, one looking specifically at Clinton’s loss, is getting the limited series treatment, with Deadline reporting that “Shattered,” the recent bestseller from writers Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, is heading to the small screen via Sony. The company’s TriStar subsidiary has teamed up with Davis Entertainment, who make “The Blacklist,” to turn the book, subtitled “Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign,” into a limited series at some point.

The book’s been controversial in some quarters for pointing the finger almost exclusively at Clinton, rather than at Russian interference, or Comey’s letter (which Nate Silver highlighted this week as the main reason for the election loss), or the inherent racism or sexism of a significant chunk of the American people. But while those things might have swung it, there’s no doubt that Clinton and her campaign made crucial errors, like not campaigning in states that turned out to be key, and there’s probably some value in examining those.
Will anyone actually want to live those traumatic experiences again as drama, though? More importantly, will they want to relive the election more than once on multiple networks and streaming services? We’d be surprised if all these projects made it to air: we’ll find out in the coming months if “Shattered” is one of them. It does at least have the advantage of having a title that makes it sound like an erotic thriller from the early 1990s starring Beverly D’Angelo and Mark Harmon, so it’s got that going for it.
true to form, it will be massively supported by the mainstream media, and all major polls will suggest it will have a 99% chance of being a overwhelming success… only to fail so hard.
Did it ever cross some people’s minds that the public didn’t want her because she’s freaking Hilary Clinton? Oh no, it’s because she’s a woman and people didn’t want that. Give me a friggin’ break.
Trump won with countless scandals and obstacles against him. You can point to the letter and Russia, but if people wanted Clinton to win she would have won in spite of that.
“The book’s been controversial in some quarters for pointing the finger almost exclusively at Clinton..”
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Regarding Hillary’s campaign setbacks, miscalculations and eventual defeat, the author of this piece — Oliver Lyttelton — goes on to ask: “Will anyone actually want to live those traumatic experiences again as drama, though?”
Traumatic.
He actually used the word “traumatic.”
He simply takes it for granted that his readers were traumatized by Hillary Clinton’s defeat.
Incredible.
Which raises the question: Is the bubble Mr. Lyttelton resides in so impenetrable that he can’t even COMPREHEND the idea that a huge percentage of Americans have a Conservative point of view?
And this, by the way, comes from someone who is NOT a Republican (I’m more Libertarian) and who both deplores and certainly did not vote for Donald Trump.

Russian interference? The Russians didn’t interfere in the election. No votes were changed or tampered with. Instead, embarrassing but true emails from the Clinton campaign were released for the public to read. Democrats would prefer that the truth be covered up and not available to the American people.
The Comey Letter? There wouldn’t be a Comey letter in the first place if Hillary Clinton hadn’t set up a private email server that contained classified documents. There wouldn’t be a Comey Letter if it wasn’t discovered weeks before the election that Hillary’s top aide had emailed classified documents to her husband. A guy under investigation for child pornography. Democrats would prefer that the truth be covered up and not available to the American people.
Inherent racism and sexism? The DNC’s own post mortem analysis shows that millions of voters who had previously voted for Obama voted for Trump. Did they suddenly become racist? Or perhaps the racism and sexism charge is a just BS excuse?
