Got a Tip?

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Reportedly Massively Overhauled Plus New International ‘The Last Jedi’ Trailer

Filming wrapped recently on the troubled production of “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” which saw Ron Howard step in after Phil Lord and Chris Miller bailed in the midst of production over creative differences. It’s still an open question mark about who will get the final director credit on the movie, but the answer might be found in this latest development….if the story is true, of course.

Star Wars News Net‘s The Resistance Broadcast (via Slashfilm) is saying that 80% of the movie or “nearly all” of the movie was reshot by Howard for “twice the budget.” As always, take these things with a grain of salt, but is it safe to assume Lucasfilm spent a ton of money on ‘Solo’? Yep. And given what we know of all the retooling done on “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” it’s not unreasonable to suggest that significant portions of ‘Solo’ were reconfigured. 80% seems like a high figure, particularly considering the movie is racing to hit cinemas in seven months, and we still don’t have any official stills or a trailer. However, I would also not be shocked if Lucasfilm and Disney kicked the movie back to the now traditional December release date for the “Star Wars” franchise.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens on December 15th.
