In what is already an oddball cast, Paul Reubens (aka Pee-Wee Herman), has signed on to lend his voice as Jokey Smurf in the upcoming fantasy-family film “The Smurfs.”
Directed by Raja Gosnell (“Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” “Big Momma’s House”), Reubens joins Neil Patrick Harris, George Lopez, Katy Perry, Alan Cumming, Sofia Vergara, Hank Azaria, Jonathan Winters, Fred Armisen, Anton Yelchin, and Jayma Mays.
The film is set to be a mix of live action and CGI and is slated to hit theaters on August 3, 2011. We just blue ourselves.
Makes sense. His Pee-wee voice was Smurf-like at times so it's not like this is a big leap.
