The general consensus is that George Lucas‘ "Star Wars" prequels are each disasters: dull, ill-conceived and executed with none of the magic of the originals. Yet if you look hard enough, you can find someone who will defend the movies, or at least find some element worth celebrating. However, Simon Pegg is not one of them. Don’t even try to make the argument to him that the prequels have any value.
“I don’t really have any respect for anyone who thinks those films are good,” the actor told New York Daily News. “They’re not. (They’re) a monumental misunderstanding of what the (original) three films are about. It’s an exercise in utter infanticide… (like) George Lucas killing his kid.” Yikes.

Lucas will get his own chance to judge Pegg’s take on the franchise when "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens next month. The actor served as a consultant on the movie directed by J.J. Abrams, and among the many decisions made along the way was making the new droid BB-8 female. I guess that’s cool and/or interesting?
Meanwhile, the anticipation is building for the movie that’s just over a month away, as everyone makes plans for when and where they’re gonna see it. Up in Canada, the IMAX theater in Regina, Saskatchewan has a special claim to fame —it’s the only place north of the border where you’ll be able to see ‘The Force Awakens’ on glorious film stock on a 52 x 73 foot screen. Fans from as far away as the United Kingdom are traveling there to have that experience.

It\’s pretty annoying when someone like Pegg and say something that negative about something and still be allowed to be in the movie.
He is entitled to an opinion but he is a total hypo tut and JJ groupie. Who\’s he bullshitting, if lucas offered him a role in the prequels he would have jumped at the chance. Would he trash them then? And oh by the way simon, you were in a film called Guest House Paradiso, remember that? Just saying……
George Lucas has more talent in his little finger than Peg has in his entire body. Pegg\’s last few movies are the real infanticide to film art.
This guy really needs to shut up. JJ Abrams has done a great job so far of keeping the fans happy. Where as this idiot is just alienating them. He could seriously do damage to this whole franchise. I hope Disney tell him to shut his cake hole. Especially as they own the prequels & not the original Star Wars movie. That is still owned by fox. Yes Disney have Empire & Jedi. But Fox stated they will never give up the rights to the original movie. Actors = stupid.
So Simon Pegg has no respect for anyone who likes the prequels, yet all those Star Trek fans who hate into Darkness are wrong. What a douch bag hypocrite. I have no respect for you….. peg.
