Have you guys heard about “Ted Lasso?” It’s this super-secret Apple TV+ series that no one knows about, but it’s actually pretty damn good! And folks, you should really watch it. I’m going to go out on a limb and call it awards-worthy. You heard it here first, folks! It appears that Apple is a fan of the series as well, as the studio is ready to continue its relationship with some of the ‘Lasso’ creative types for a new series, “Shrinking.”

Kidding aside, “Ted Lasso” is an absolute comedy heavyweight in 2021, serving as the biggest attraction to Apple’s still young streaming platform. So, it is not shocking at all that “Ted Lasso” co-creator Bill Lawrence is teaming up with ‘Lasso’ actor, writer, and producer Brett Goldstein for a new project, “Shrinking,” according to Variety. And making matters even more exciting, Jason Segel is on board to develop the series and star in it, as well. Get hyped.
The 10-episode series, “Shrinking,” tells the story of a grieving therapist (played by Segel), who decides to take the unorthodox (and highly unethical) stance of just telling his clients exactly what he thinks. As you might expect, this leads to massive changes in the lives of his clients, as well as his own personal and professional situation.
As mentioned, Segel is not only the star of the project, but he will also serve as a co-writer and producer on the series alongside the aforementioned Goldstein and Lawrence. “Shrinking” isn’t the only TV series Segel is tackling recently. Last year, he starred in the strange mystery series, “Dispatches from Elsewhere,” and he’s also set to have a role in the upcoming untitled Los Angeles Lakers period drama over at HBO.
A release date for “Shrinking” is unclear, but we’re sure Apple TV+ would love to promote “a new series from the producers of ‘Ted Lasso’” sooner rather than later.
