Got a Tip?

Short Cuts: Fall Out Boy & Seth Green, Pras In OZ, Doomsday Soundtrack, Hans Zimmer; More…

Emo rockers Fall Out Boy will be play a central plot element in the Seth Green, Amish Country/teen-sex romp/road trip flick “Sex Drive.”
The synopsis is: on the way to an Ohio show, FOB’s tour bus breaks down and stranded in the middle of Amish country they meet Ezekiel (Seth Green) who agrees to fix the group’s bus on the condition that they play a Amish-themed party. Hilarity apparently ensues some time thereafter. [MTV]

Ex-Fugee and Ghetto Superstar, Pras Michel has optioned film and TV rights for the comic series “Dark Oz,” a gothic and macabre comic book take on the “Wizard of Oz” story. Evidently he will produce the comic trilogy as three separate live-action films and will star as the Scarecrow. It does sound terrible and farfetched that it will happe, but remember that Pras just co-produced a film with John Malkovich, so he does have some pull [ed. ok, the film looks terrible, but it’s more than you ever did]. The soundtrack to the ridiculous-looking apocalyptic British film, “Doomsday” will feature music from Adam And The Ants, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and original score from Tyler Bates. The soundtrack disc is due March 18. [Myspace]

Hans Zimmer’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” original music was named the top score of 2007 according to Soundtrack.net. Other notable scores in the top 10 were the Oscar-winning “Atonement” score (Dario Marianelli), John Murphy’s mostly overlooked “Sunshine” music and “Eastern Promises” by Howard Shore. If you’re at all displeased with the final 10, don’t put too much stock into it, they did include an episode of “Battlestar Galactica” in there. [Soundtrack.net]

The Hell’s Angels wanted to kill Mick Jagger after Altamont says the documentary, “The FBI at 100.” Good thing they didn’t want to take out poor Albert Maysles. [Billboard]
