After a couple months of rumor and speculation, The Farrelly Brothers are casting hard on their long-gestating dream project “The Three Stooges” and have added another interesting choice to the film.
Stephen Collins, a character actor perhaps best known for his role as Rev. Eric Camden on the nauseating, earnest Christian-values series “Seventh Heaven,” has come aboard the film. But he won’t be doling out advice from the Bible, instead, he’ll be taking on the villain role of Mr. Harter who has ulterior motives when inquiring about adopting the three stooges and presumably gets knocked in the head a few times as a result.
Collins joins the pretty eclectic, but promising, cast that includes Will Sasso, Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos, Sofia Vergara, Jane Lynch and Larry David. Filming starts this month for a to-be-determined 2012 release. [Variety]
He\’s pretty great on Always Sunny.
