One word, Dogma. Kevin Smith pissed off everyone on the religious right with that one, and made a lifetime (And Afterlife) of enemies. Who runs the MPAA, why the Christians of course! Hence the NC-17 rating. So it should surprise no one, that a film made by Smith, with the word Porno, starring two known porno stars, would not get any help whatsoever from the religious overseers of the movie ratings system. They’re probably organizing the protests when the film comes out right now. Smith should have done Mallrats 2 instead.
