‘Scream 6’ Teaser: Ghostface Takes Manhattan In Upcoming Sequel

In the world of horror, studios are itching to reboot franchises. Most of the time, these reboots are pretty terrible. But in the case of “Scream” and the legacy sequel that was released earlier this year, the filmmakers known as Radio Silence were able to not only please original fans but find a new audience and earn quite a bit of money at the box office in the process. So, you better believe the studio was ready to get a sequel going ASAP.

And thanks to a new teaser, we get our first glimpse at what Radio Silence has in store for “Scream 6.” Emphasis on teaser, however. The footage shown just sets up the setting for the new film, which takes the “Scream” franchise out of the small town and puts it right in the middle of New York City. Is this the “Jason Takes Manhattan” version of “Scream?” We’ll have to wait and see.

The folks from the last film are set to return, including Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Courteney Cox. Interestingly, we know that Neve Campbell refused to return after getting a cheap offer, but the studio is mining the “Scream” well a bit to bring back Hayden Panettiere, who was the star of “Scream 4.” Joining the returning “Scream” vets are newcomers such as Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.

“Scream 6” is set to arrive in theaters on March 10, 2023. You can watch the teaser below.
