We are less than a week away from this year’s Super Bowl. And while a lot of the discussion about the commercials talks about the silly ads with A-list talent, there are also a ton of new trailers that studios throw in there to drum up some buzz. One of those trailers has just been released ahead of time for the forthcoming slasher, “Scream 6.”

As seen in the new trailer for the film, “Scream 6” brings back most of the cast from the previous film (some of them were killed by Ghostface in ‘5’), and the film moves the location from Woodsboro to New York City. What seems to be the focus of this trailer and the previous marketing for the film is the fact that this version of Ghostface is very different than previous people who put on the mask and wreaked havoc. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s just clever marketing or if there is a new spin on the whodunnit of “Scream.”
Returning from the previous film are Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Courteney Cox. They’re joined by Hayden Panettiere (making her return to the series after last appearing in “Scream 4”), Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.
Obviously, if you know “Scream,” then you need to pay particular attention to those newcomers to the franchise. Previously, if you just wanted to make guesses about who is under the Ghostface mask, it’s the new people that are the most suspect.
