One film that has been keeping to itself since shooting last year is “Crazy Heart” director Scott Cooper‘s sophomore effort, “Out Of The Furnace.” But a newly stamped release date will see a lot more coming about the movie, hopefully very soon…
Relativity has confirmed an October 4th release date for the film. Featuring Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Sam Shepard, Zoe Saldana and Forest Whitaker, the drama is a gritty Rust Belt tale about two brothers who become ensnared in a violent crime ring. This one has some pretty great talent all around, with Alberto Iglesias scoring the picture while Eddie Vedder is writing a new song and contributing tracks as well. We’d guess you can probably look for this one at TIFF in the fall.
Meanwhile, the studio has moved up “Paranoia” with Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman and Liam Hemsworth from the date now occupied by ‘Furnance’ to August 16th. The thriller centers on a young exec who is blackmailed by his boss to spy on a rival company, and we presume a trailer is probably imminent. [Exhibitor Relations]
Eddie Vedder will once again write and sing the song of the year in films. The list is starting to get really long:
Man of the Hour/Big Fish
Rise/Into The Wild
Better Days/Eat, Pray, Love
Long Road/Dead Man Walking
Actually the composer is Dickon Hinchliffe, he used to play with The Tindersticks
