Variety reports that "Brooklyn" star and two-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan has joined the movie. Number 9 Films (“Carol,” “Youth”) are backing the project that will be directed by Dominic Cooke ("The Hollow Crown") for a story that follows two young lovers on their wedding night in 1962. Here’s the book synopsis:

In 1962, Florence and Edward celebrate their wedding in a hotel on the Dorset coast. Yet as they dine, the expectation of their marital duties weighs over them. And unbeknownst to both, the decisions they make this night will resonate throughout their lives.

Production will begin this fall, and we’re sure this will be one film that distributors are going to start circling quickly.
