UPDATED: Our powers of deduction were right again! Showtime just released a new teaser for Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest series, “Who is America?” set to premiere July 15. Watch the teaser below!
Original story follows…
It looks like the marketing has officially begun for Sacha Baron Cohen’s still unannounced series. While we think we have an idea what it is, considering the pieces that have fallen into place, the first teaser for Baron Cohen’s latest gives us an idea of what we might expect when the actor/comedian comes back to the airwaves.
In another mysterious tweet by Baron Cohen, we learn quite a few things over the course of 20 seconds. First, the actor has been secretly filming for the last year, undercover. We also learn that the rumors of it being another “Da Ali G Show”-esque series are definitely true, as Baron Cohen clearly is developing brand new characters for his series, which should premiere soon on Showtime. And finally, we learn that former Vice President Dick Cheney will sign just about anything, including a waterboard kit.
That’s right, to show just how far this new series will go, the teaser shows that one of the most controversial political figures of the last few decades will actually sign a torture device if you ask him nicely. And no, you can’t pretend that Cheney wasn’t aware of what it is, as the teaser ends with the VP saying, “That’s a first. That’s the first time I’ve ever signed a waterboard.”

Again, while we don’t know the name of the show, and we still as of yet, don’t have confirmation that it will actually be on Showtime, the latest TV project from Baron Cohen is starting to come together. And it appears that we’re going to learn more soon, as the actor has been sharing more and more since his first mysterious tweet on July 4.
As is rumored, the latest untitled Sacha Baron Cohen project is perhaps hitting Showtime on July 15.
