Master chess player, music producer and all around entrepreneur/ project juggler the RZA says he may try and revive the Bobby Digital movie he started working on in 2001.
“I found the old films, the old artwork, everything,” the Wu-Tang Abbot told Billboard. “They’re low-budget films, but they’ve got a vibe to them and I think they offer the hip-hop community something. When I was first doing it, it felt like I could’ve had a bigger budget, but now it feels like a classic.”
But that project may have to wait, not only is he scoring the Vin Diesel science fiction film “Babylon A.D.” with exalted composer Hans Zimmer, he’s developing a martial arts film with torture-porn auteurist and filmmaking pal Eli Roth called “The Man with the Iron Fist.” The RZA who composed elements of music for the “Kill Bills” films says he has “the blessing” of his “teacher,” Quentin Tarantino (congratulations? does he also tell you when you can pee?).
While not confirmed by Billboard, “Iron Fist,” shouldn’t be confused with the Marvel comic book character which is already in the works (that is unless Eli Roth somehow insinuated his way into this project without telling anyone, but even that kind of reptilian-move seems doubtful).
