Yup, it’s kinda come to this.
For a minute there, Star Magazine — a full-blown silly tabloid — was reporting that Jennifer Aniston would appear in “Scream 4” alongside her old “Friends” co-star Courtney Cox, and some people actually bought the report (you know who you are).
The hook that got them, apparently too irresistible to pass up, was the rumor that Aniston would be the first woman killed off at the beginning of the film much like Drew Barrymore at the beginning of “Scream” (guys, that worked once because it was totally unexpected; now it’s an expected cliche and the writer Kevin Williamson hopefully knows better, though don’t count on it).
Anyhoo, Bloody Disgusting has kindly debunked this rumor. Thanks for playing. “Scream 4” or “Scre4m,” if you like (how does a four stand in for an A is beyond us), stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette alongside the recently announced Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin, Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”) and Lake Bell (“How to Make It in America”). It hits theaters April 15, 2011 and will be directed by Wes Craven yet again (“Red Eye” was surprisingly good, maybe stick to original projects with good actors like that one).
