Hollywood is all about shared, expanding universes right now. If you want a promotion, just be sure to package something that involves sequels, spinoffs, and stories told in continuing chapters, and you’ll be sure to please executives looking to produce movies that make the kind of money to keep them employed. With that in mind, this next rumor is a bit interesting.
Former Latino Review reporter Umberto Gonzalez is hearing that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be "the end of the Bryan Singer X-Men universe." Now, there’s a couple of ways that could be interpreted. Does that mean it’s the end of Singer’s fifteen-year involvement with the series that started in 2000? That would make a lot of sense. Does that mean Fox will reboot everything following ‘Apocalypse’? That’s the bigger question.
"The Wolverine 3" in 2017 will be Hugh Jackman‘s last time as Logan — if his cry wolf antics are actually for real this time — which would mean a major actor exiting the franchise. That said, with starry new-breed cast members like Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, coupled with chatter of the studio’s desire for spinoff movies, I really wonder if Fox is going to let that kind of talent go. At least not without a fight. And starting over when Marvel is deep into their cinematic universe, and with Warner Bros. kicking off theirs next year, it might be a miscalculation.
Anyway, something to think about and speculate on. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

They should just keep going. Time travel.
I want to find a shared universe in which Bryan Singer is rightfully in prison for being a rapist.
Thank god I\’ve been dying to see Bryan Singer go away for years now I pretty much ruined the X-Men for me wit his crappy freakin movies I want the real X-Men in there real attire from the 90\’s please
the white bill cosby, unnoticed
Lawrence has already said that Apocalypse will be the last time she\’ll be playing Mystique. Personally, I\’m ready for the book to close on this chapter of comic book film history. FOX has had its time with the mutants and while some outings were good, the rest were complete turds.
On the bright side, Twentieth Century fox doesn\’t have to deal with Bryan Singer trying rape yet another guy intern…
I think they\’ll just recast Wolverine and keep all the young "first class" on board for more sequels. Maybe have one film without Wolverine in 2019/2020 and then introduce the new clawed-one after that.
If this is truly ending than why connect Gambit and the new Deadpool to this shared universe only to abandoned it? If it\’s true that\’s kind of a dumb marketing move.
Good, this franchise is spent. Time to move on Fox. You can forget about JLaw or Fassbender continuing both of them dislike this comic book movie b.s. and being locked in to 3 picture deals. Like any good actor, they want roles that are different and challenging. The only movie spinoff Fox should be doing is Dark Phoenix.
