Next fall, Robert Rodriguez fans are going to be in for a treat. The currently filming "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" is already slated for an October release, and the ever-busy, always-multitasking director won't have a moment's rest as his other anticipated sequel will be landing a month earlier.
Open Road Films has slated "Machete Kills" for a September 13th release date (so much for that lawsuit potentially halting the release of the movie). Its selection is notable because it falls right at the tail end of the Toronto International Film Festival, and we can only wager a Midnight Madness screening is the perfect place for this one to premiere. Moreover, last year Open Road showed off "End Of Watch" at Toronto shortly before it hit theaters as well, and we wouldn't be surprised if they want to go with the same game plan here.
The star-studded cast brings back Danny Trejo with Amber Hearrd, Sofia Vergara, Vanessa Hudgens, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Jessica Alba, Alexa Vega, Lady Gaga, Demian Bichir, Charlie Sheen, Antonio Banderas and Cuba Gooding Jr. all set to appear and Mel Gibson playing the baddie who plans to launch a missle into space. Sorry "I, Frankenstein" — you're going to have some major competition that weekend.
