There was a mini-hubbub when Robert Pattinson dropped out of the western “Brimstone“ at the last moment. Whatever the reason he left that flick, he’s yet again signed up to work with auteur talent, and I have to say, the prospect of this one sounds pretty great.
Filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie made waves with their addiction drama “Heaven Knows What” and it has attracted the right attention, with Pattinson signing up for their next film, “Good Time.” Described as a “neo-grindhouse” flick (I’m already halfway sold on that alone), the actor will play Connie, a bank robber to tries to escape as a dragnet beings to draw closer and closer. That premise sounds perfectly like the stuff of B-movies and I’m intrigued to see how the Safdies tackle that kind of material.
No word on when it might shoot, but presumably it’ll have to wait until Pattinson has wrapped James Gray‘s “Lost City Of Z” which starts shooting later this year. [THR]
What a fake, engagement who cares. His talent is in fooling the public again. As for her she was nothing before and is nothing now.mthese two should go back to bloody old England.
Jagernauth doing Jagernauth things.
Kevin can\’t get over dropping the Brimstone.it\’s not like The Playlist is going to put this movie on their list of the most anticipated movies 2015,right?
Another chance for Pattinson to show his phenomenal range. To go from the cool billionaire in Cosmopolis to the heartbreaking outlaw in The Rover was proof of his scope as an actor, and playing this small time crook in a neo-grindhouse flick will further demonstrate his unlimited acting skills. Very excited to see him working with the Safdie brothers, too. It\’s great how he helps put the spotlight on the talented young directors he works with, like Brady Corbet.
Love the write up. Can\’t wait. Pattinsons\’ winning me over lately. The Rover killed. Great performance.
Sounds like a great fit for all involved
Just wait for the well known lunatics to descend in 3, 2, 1…
