As usual, Ridley Scott is juggling five thousand projects at once. He’s currently wrapping up "Exodus: Gods And Kings" for release later this year, and this fall he’ll begin rolling on the sci-fi film "The Martian" starring Matt Damon. But what about the long developing sequels to "Blade Runner" and "Prometheus"? Well, Scott promises both are coming, and he says that at least from a writing standpoint, they are ready to go.
“It’s written and it’s damn good,” Scott told EW about "Blade Runner: Title To Be Determined." “Of course it involves Harrison [Ford], who is a survivor after all these years, despite the accident. So yes, that will happen.”
That being said, Ford’s involvement isn’t confirmed by, at least not officially, but we suppose if the actor is willing to come back for "Star Wars," he will do anything. He’s been rumored to participate in the movie for so long that it’s pretty much a given. Scott says it will get rolling "probably after [‘The Martian.’]” So shooting could start sometime next year? It could very well, as he’s known to work fast.
As for "Prometheus 2: Terraforming Boogaloo," Scott confirms it also has a script in place. But like everything else, scheduling needs to be sorted. "That’s the problem,” Scott says. “I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row. But they’re all written.”

Prom 2 and a The Martian, definitely. But Blade Runner? If he thought the critical bashing was bad on the first one, then just wait.

Jazzed to see the Martian get made, it's my favorite sci-fi book since Rendezvous with Rama. Interested to see how he'll adapt it. I'm open about Prometheus 2, since it can definitely improve on 1. But movies have changed so much since Blade Runner. If that movie came out today there would be endless whining about the long takes and 'slow' story development. People don't have the same attention span.
