Got a Tip?

Richard Kind Joins David Milch’s ‘Luck,’ Also Has A Role In Clint Eastwood’s ‘Hereafter’

Richard Kind has joined the cast of David Milch’s HBO horse-racing drama “Luck.”

The actor will play a forty-something jockey’s agent and joins the already illustrious cast of Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz, Kevin Dunn, Kerry Condon and Tom Payne, just one of many talent-heavy HBO productions this coming season. Also added to the cast is British actor Ian Hart who will play a loudmouth gambler who comes into some cash.

The show’s pilot is of course being helmed by Michael Mann who is also executive producing along side Milch, the series show-runner whose previous credits include “Deadwood” and “John From Cincinnati.” A January 2011 debut is being eyed — we’ve always thought the world of horse racing and gambling was very cinematic and can’t wait for this.

Kind also recently wrapped up a role on Clint Eastwood’s ‘Hereafter’ capping a quite astronomical rise for the previously, predominant comic actor. After years with bit part jobs in film, Broadway and T.V. including a recurring role on “Spin City,” Kind’s turn last year as the deadbeat brother in the Coen Brothers’ “A Serious Man” seems to have rightfully brought him major attention.
