Got a Tip?

Revolving Door Cast Of ‘Scream 4’ Loses Lauren Graham, Gains Adam Brody, Eric Knudsen and Marley Shelton

Filming kicked off this week on “Scream 4,” but does that mean that the cast is locked down? Not so much. The horror revival lost Lake Bell last week after a schedule clash with Ivan Reitman’s untitled romantic comedy, and now another actress previously reported as being signed has left the project.

“Gilmore Girls” star Lauren Graham, who announced a few weeks back that she’d landed the role of the mother of Emma Roberts’ character, has apparently left the project, according to Ghouls On Film (Via /Film), who were the ones who originally reported her casting. Supposedly it’s due to both date conflict and, more ominously, script changes. Uh-oh…

There’s no news on her replacement yet, but Heat Vision report that three more actors have come on board the project. Bell’s role, of a cop who was at high school with Sidney in the original film, has gone to the never-quite-famous Marley Shelton (“Grindhouse”), while Adam Brody (“The O.C.”) will play another police officer, a recent college grad who grew up on “C.S.I.”

In addition, Canadian actor Erik Knudsen, who plays one of fictional band Crash and the Boys in “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” has also joined, in a role described as being similar to Jamie Kennedy’s smart-ass horror buff in the first two movies. Roberts, Hayden Panetierre, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, Anthony Anderson and Marielle Jaffe are all on board, as are original stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette; we suppose it’s a decent cast, but we find it very hard to raise anything more than a shrug about this one.
