This Tarantino/Onion story reads so fucking real it’s not even funny.
“I’ve been a Tarantino fan for as long as I can remember,” said Tarantino. “We’re talking about the quintessential writer-director of our time. I mean, the ability to take a genre or a subgenre, embrace it to its core, and then blow it up and make it your own is something that has to be admired.”
Real Or Onion? This playfully mocking Onion article about Quentin Tarantino’s hubris and satirizing his love for redoing genre pictures is so on-the-money, it’s actually shockingly unfunny and feels rather real.
It’s humorously titled, “Next Tarantino Movie An Homage To Beloved Tarantino Movies Of Director’s Youth,” and jokes about a new film called, “Jack Rabbit Slim” which will be an homage to his early work. It’s a lol-worthy piece, but this could seriously happen, no?
Not an AV Club article, guys, just a regular Onion piece.
