Got a Tip?

Rashida Jones Is A ‘Frenemy of the State’

“Scott Pilgrim” producer Eric Gitter and Imagine’s Brian Grazer have acquired the rights to “Frenemy of the State,” an Oni Press comic book created by “Parks & Recreation” star, and light of our lives, Rashida Jones. The series focuses on a wealthy heiress in her early 20s who starts to work for the CIA – Jones tells Variety “She has lived a life of privilege, attended the best schools and learned every language, but her obsession with spying on exes gets her in trouble and she is recruited to be a spy in exchange for not going to prison.

There is a comic element to it, this girl who is so conscious of social sanding and wearing the right shoes, suddenly becoming responsible for these dangerous, life-threatening missions.” Jones will write the screenplay, along with writing partner Will McCormack, who previously collaborated with the actress on the rom-com “Celeste and Jesse Forever,” currently being developed by Overture.

  1. I'm sorry for being the only gun on the planet who doesn't like this chick but I'm sick of seeing her treated like Hollywood royalty when she hasn't done jack shit. She's the Colin Farrel of the TV world. She gets chance after chance after chance despite all her failures. Maybe it's time to realize that there's a reason she keeps failing.

  2. Does she keep failing? I Love You Man did well, Parks and Recreation has improved massively in its second series and the girl has almost supernaturally good comic timing. Plus, Michael Jackson's monkey bit her once, which is pretty cool.

  3. I Love You Man did GREAT at being a god-awful movie! And I haven't met anyone who's seen Parks and Recreation yet, but when I do, I'm sure they'll have good things to say. I suppose next week they'll report she's directing an upcoming "Twilight" movie.
