Rare Jess Franco Film ‘Two Female Spies With Flowered Panties’ Coming To Blu-Ray

Jess Franco was a filmmaker that always liked being on the fringe of mainstream cinema. His films tackled controversial subjects without abandon. He was a director that loved to push the limits of what could be shown on screen, and fans have been loving his work for decades. Now, Severin Films is ready to release one of Franco’s more rare titles on Blu-ray, and it looks like it’s going to be a must-own for anyone who loves Franco’s work.

“Two Female Spies with Flowered Panties” is a film that has a pretty self-explanatory title. Like many of Franco’s films, ‘Flowered Panties’ features two female prisoners who are given the option to have their sentences commuted if they go to the Canary Islands to find a missing girl. Now, since this is from the director of “Vampyros Lesbos,” you know you’re going to get a healthy dose of violence and sex along the way.

Now, as film fans, we don’t buy Blu-rays just to watch the film; we want to see what extras are included as well. Severin Films has made sure to pack this disc with goodies. Obviously, the film is now restored in glorious HD for the first time, but there’s also multiple interviews with Franco, out-takes, an interview with cult-film author Stephen Thrower, and also a theatrical trailer. However, if you’re one of the first 3,000 to buy the film, you’ll be treated to a limited-edition DVD that features a “salacious Spanish cut of the movie.” Not really sure how much more salacious the film can be, but it’s definitely worth a view to find out!

Obviously, if you don’t find gratuitous nudity, violence, and random depravity appealing, then maybe this film isn’t for you, and you should probably stay away from any Jess Franco films. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and pick one of these Blu-rays up!
