Romantic comedy, time travel and Rachel McAdams — they will all blend together in "About Time," with the first image arriving today.
Co-starring Domhnall Gleeson (who is great as the emotionally wounded, sensitive Levin in "Anna Karenina"), the film is the latest from "Love Actually" writer/director Richard Curtis that tells the story of a man who can time-travel and ends up meeting the girl of his dreams. Fun fact, Zooey Deschanel was circling the lead before McAdams came on, just as an fyi. And while both would have been fine, we like McAdams and just the hope the premise isn't as twee as it sounds. But Curtis does know his way around a twisty narrative, so maybe this will be the "Looper" of romance stories but without prosthetics? Mayhaps.
No release date for this one, but considering it shot this past summer, there's a good chance it will be released next year right around the same time. [Bleeding Cool]
Well, the first four words in the headline got my attention.
Are you kidding me? This entire site just REEKS of 'twee'.
I so wish you weren't so good at providing updates. Otherwise, I'd quit coming here in a heartbeat.
I'm pretty sure the time traveler's wife counts as a time travel movie. So this sounds like a retread to me.
Yeah, and she was also in "Midnight in Paris," which had a time travel element. Even though she wasn't one of the characters who actually time-traveled. But still.
Actually, time travel is not a new one for McAdams, seeing as how she starred in "The Time Traveler's Wife" just a couple years ago.
