Got a Tip?

Rachel McAdams Joins Will Ferrell & ‘The Wedding Crashers’ Director For Netflix’s ‘Eurovision’

Though it’s a bit problematic nowadays, 2005’s “The Wedding Crashers” is one of the most iconic comedies of the last 20 years. The film was one of a multitude of R-rated comedies to come out during that era and served as a launching pad for actors like Bradley Cooper and Rachel McAdams. And now, almost 15 years later, McAdams is set to join her ‘Wedding Crashers’ director in a new Netflix film.

According to Deadline, McAdams has agreed to join the film “Eurovision.” The Netflix comedy stars Will Ferrell and is said to be about the TV series of the same name, where musical acts would compete for stardom. ABBA and Celine Dion are just a couple of names that received a start thanks to the series.

“The Wedding Crashers” director David Dobkin is aboard the film as director, with Ferrell and co-writer Andrew Steele attached to write the script.

After getting her start with films like “Mean Girls,” “The Notebook,” and of course, “The Wedding Crashers,” McAdams has gone on to star in a slew of huge films, including the “Sherlock Holmes” franchise, Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange,” and most recently, “Game Night.” She also was the star of the second season of HBO’s “True Detective.” And of course, she earned her only Academy Award nomination for the film “Spotlight.”
