Maybe you’ve heard of Quibi, maybe you haven’t. If you’re a regular reader of this website, then you’ve likely heard quite a bit about the new streaming service that launched earlier this month and has been trying to make a name for itself in the current Streaming Wars. No matter your knowledge of Quibi, the service is now offering a free sample to viewers that are a bit gun shy about pulling the trigger on a free 90-day membership.
To help entice you to sign up for the mobile-focused streaming platform, Quibi (which is short for “quick bites”) is offering full episodes of series such as “The Most Dangerous Game,” “The Stranger,” and “Dummy” on YouTube. Now, we have to be clear, by the term “episode” we mean 7-to-10-minute chunks of what amounts to a feature-length film. You see, what makes Quibi so unique (and interesting) is the fact that the service is optimized for mobile viewing on a smartphone, where you may prefer to only view content in little sub-10-minute chunks.

And considering Quibi allows for any of its content to be perfectly viewable in landscape or portrait mode, the service released these episodes in both formats, allowing you to be the judge about which you’d rather watch. Myself, I’m a purist, so I tend to watch Quibi shows in landscape mode, but they’re definitely not “unwatchable” in portrait.
As for the shows that Quibi has released, “The Most Dangerous Game” is the biggest project, with stars such as Christoph Waltz and Liam Hemsworth. However, “The Stranger” is very intriguing, as it’s from the creator of “The Killing” and stars Dane DeHaan and Maika Monroe. And “Dummy?” Well, that comedy series is incredibly strange and should be experienced for yourself.
Below, you’ll find the landscape versions of each series (the others can be found on Quibi’s YouTube page):
