For the past couple of years—except 2013 when he was working on his own "Django Unchained"—Quentin Tarantino wasn’t shy about sharing the films he liked, and sometimes, the ones he didn’t. For the most part, the filmmaker loves indie movies, animated films and big, popcorn blockbusters. In 2010, he was really into kids’ flicks with "Toy Story 3,""Tangled" and "How To Train Your Dragon" sitting alongside "The Social Network," "True Grit" and "Animal Kingdom." In 2011, fare like "Attack The Block," "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes," "Moneyball" and uh, "The Three Musketeers" were name-dropped while he controversially gave Nicolas Winding Refn‘s "Drive" a "nice try" dig. So what does he like so far in 2013?
Again it’s an eclectic batch, though he’s certainly shouting out smaller movies. Jill Soloway‘s under-appreciated "Afternoon Delight" tops the alphabetically ordered list, which will certainly give the picture a lot more shine. Other indies include Richard Linklater‘s "Before Midnight," Noah Baumbach‘s "Frances Ha" and Woody Allen‘s "Blue Jasmine." On the blockbuster front, Tarantino is going against the critical tide supporting "The Lone Ranger" and "Kick-Ass 2" (the first "Kick-Ass" made his list in 2010) while he joins everyone in singing the praises of Alfonso Cuarón‘s "Gravity."
Hopefully he’ll share how this list changes over the next few months when more Oscar contenders join the mix. And we certainly wonder what his thoughts will be on "12 Years A Slave" … [The Quentin Tarantino Archives]

I agree with the "The World's End". I preferred it over the obnoxiousness of "This is the End"
The World's End is BY FAR the best movie of the year. I am shocked that it is not on his list.

GOOD LIST!!!
Why do you have numbers next the movies when it's an ALPHABETICAL list?!
I of course respect Quentin Tarantinos rampaging heterosexuality but as a film-maker hes an absurdly over-rated joke ! ! !.
This is seriously lacking Upstream Color.
I like it. I like the addition of The Lone Ranger, sorta throws people off
So I'm not the only one who liked The Lone Ranger? Awesome 😀
"the list is in alphabetic order"
