Got a Tip?

Quentin Tarantino Says The 10th Film Will Be The “Epilogue-y” End Of His Filmmaking Story

Just because Quentin Tarantino recently released his newest film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” it’s never too early to ask, “What’s Next?”

And in the case of Tarantino, what would be next is the 10th (or 11th, if you want to get technical) film in his directing career and thus his last. So that has led many film fans to furiously debate about what the filmmaker should do with his seemingly final feature film, with many just pleading for it to not be a ‘Star Trek’ project.

Well, according to Tarantino’s latest comments at a press conference in Moscow promoting ‘Once Upon a Time,’ whatever his final film actually ends up being, it will act as the epilogue to his storied filmmaking career.

“If you think about the idea of all the movies telling one story, and each film is like a train boxcar, connected to each other, this one would sort of be the big show-stopping climax of it all,” he said (via THR). “And I could imagine that the 10th one would be a little more epilogue-y.”

No matter what he picks for his final feature film, Tarantino is right about one thing — “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” would qualify as a “big show-stopping climax.” Especially when you consider that the story of the filmmaker’s film career could be quickly summed up as one big homage to the works that influenced his entire life. If that’s the case, then ‘Once Upon a Time’ is an homage to the people that Tarantino honored so many times before in films like “Pulp Fiction,” “Kill Bill,” and “Django Unchained,” to name a few.

But what will the epilogue consist of? That’s the question. As mentioned, Tarantino has hinted that he’d be perfectly fine ending his career with a “Star Trek” film, though that would seem to be a bit of a wasted opportunity in many people’s eyes. Honestly, it doesn’t even sound like he knows what’s next and is willing to keep an open mind.

We’ll just have to wait and see what Tarantino uses as the final chapter in his filmmaking career.
