If the epidemic in Steven Soderbergh's "Contagion" could flat out kill you, in David McKenzie's "Perfect Sense" another virus is sweeping the land, but one that will disconnect you from your surroundings at the most primal level.
Starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, the film tells the story of an epidemiologist and a chef who fall in love, just as a virus of some kind begins spreading, one that takes away all feelings of sensory perception. Quite the bummer if you're hoping to get Green in the sack. We weren't exactly sold on the trailer that arrived nearly a year ago, but the cast for this film is so good it's hard to ignore. It addition to the aforementioned leads, Ewen Bremner, Stephen Dillane and Connie Nielsen round this thing out.
IFC Films will release film into theaters on February 12, 2012. Check out the romantic poster below. [RecentMoviePosters]
Bizarre that they're hiding the fact it's a sci-fi film about the end of the world. It's not like that's a twist. The poster makes it look like an erotic thriller or something. Some great performances and nice moments, but really uneven – I have to say the montages of everyone all over the world losing their senses made me laugh unintentionally, they're kind of overwrought.
The film is actually pretty interesting. That poster doesn't sell it well at all. Horrible.
