Marina Zenovich already shot the well-regarded “Roman Polanski: Wanted And Desired” documentary, the evidence of which might help Polanski in his bid to have the case dismissed thirty years after the fact because of judicial prejudice and misconduct.
But is she shooting a sequel or at least an epilogue to the tale? The New York Times Carpetbagger blog reports the filmmaker has been on hand for the new trial dates. The initial trial is scheduled for February 17, but on Feb 13, Polanski’s new lawyer, Chad Hummel, met with with Judge Peter Espinoza to issue subpoenas and round up some potential witnesses in advance of the larger hearing. And Zenovich was there, camera in hand.
What she shooting another documentary? When reporters asked what she was doing there, she responded tersely. “Cleaning up.” If your documentary was potentially responsible for altering the life of one of the most notable and scandal-ridden filmmakers of the 20th Century, you’d probably wanna stick around to shoot the coda too.
The judge in this case should refuse to hear arguements until Mr Polanski is back in custody. Regardless of how he was convicted or what the accusations are against the Prosecutor, the fact remains that Polanski pled guilty to having sexual intercourse with a 13 year old child. He is a fugative and should be treated as such.
Mr. Polanski is never going to be in custody. He will never return to the United States. Haven’t you heard? He has no desire to return to a Kangaroo Court.
“America is the Great Satan which haves no culture.”
What noble deed could the genius Polanski, an artistic Messiah in Europe and the rest of the world, hope to accomplish in this backwards oil cabals’ for-profit cesspool – enlighten our oppressed, uneducated, uncultured teens armed only with his noble Euro-phallus?
Praise Clapton (God) and Obama (messiah), with kudos to Bob Dylan!
But. What will the poor noble Euro teens in overseas do while the Maestro spread his seeds of vast knowledge, love and caring abroad?
You know you pretty much sound as ignorant as the dumb yanks you’re slamming.
Whatever misconduct there was by the justice system back then doesn't change the facts. He raped a 13 year old girl and should be punished. Deduct the 45 days he spent being evaluated from the sentence he receives. He should also receive some time for "escaping". He may have had a tragic life but that doesn't make it okay for him to rape a 13 year old girl. It sounds to me like the "injustice" he received was that the judge allowed him to plead guilty to statutory rape because of his celebrity status and then changed his mind and was going to treat him like any other rapist would be treated.
