Valentine’s Day is a great time to take your special someone to the theater to catch a flick. And this year, that’s no different, as Hollywood studios are pushing out quite a few films that should catch your interest. However, with options like “Sonic the Hedgehog” and Blumhouse’s “Fantasy Island,” if you want to have a bit of romance on the special day, then really you better buy your ticket for “The Photograph.”

As seen in the new trailer for the romantic drama, “The Photograph” is poised to be a pretty decent film to enjoy with your partner. (Let’s be real, it’s a way better choice than a low-budget horror film and a kid-friendly video game adaptation). The story follows a journalist that becomes enthralled with a woman that is the daughter of a famous photographer that recently passed away. Over the course of the film, the young woman has to come to terms with her mother’s death while also navigating this budding love affair with her new beau.
The film stars Lakeith Stanfield and Issa Rae alongside Chanté Adams, Y’lan Noel, and Rob Morgan. “The Photograph” is from writer-director Stella Meghie. The filmmaker’s previous films include “The Weekend,” “Everything, Everything,” and “Jean of the Joneses.”
“The Photograph” hopes to make your body temp rise when it hits theaters on February 14.
Here’s the synopsis:
When famed photographer Christina Eames unexpectedly dies, she leaves her estranged daughter Mae Morton (Rae) hurt, angry and full of questions. When a photograph tucked away in a safe-deposit box is found, Mae finds herself on a journey delving into her mother’s early life and ignites a powerful, unexpected romance with a rising-star journalist, Michael Block (Stanfield).
