Encyclopedia of film history, best bud of Orson Welles and unabashed ascot wearer Peter Bogdanovich has lined up his first film since the Grammy winning doc “Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: Running Down A Dream,”and his first feature since 2001’s “The Cat’s Meow.”
“Turn Of The Century” is based on Kurt Andersen’s debut, critically acclaimed 1999 novel about um, the new millennium. The story is set in February 2000 and is about, “a Manhattan power couple and their three private school-reared kids. The hysterical pace of their respective professional lives is vaporizing their already troubled marriage, and the couple must struggle to keep their perspective and save their family.”
We imagine that Bogdanovich, who will be co-writing the adaptation with longtime scripting partner Parish Rahbar, will keep the now dated pre/post millennial vibes to a low, while amping up the more relatable aspects of the story. And certainly Bogdanovich and Rahbar have plenty of time to get it right. Filming won’t start on this until spring 2011.
Saw him speak at Indiana University two weeks ago and he surprisingly didn't mention this. He did mention, again, that he was working on the edit of Welles' last film, The Other Side of the Wind, due out in a year or so.
Sadly, he's said that once a year for the last 4-5 years (re: The Other Side of the Wind).
Apparently it's caught up in some legal quagmire.
I pretty much delete all your comments as all you do is troll. Most sites don't accept trolls, fyi.
