*Spoilers for “WandaVision.” Don’t read ahead if you haven’t seen the most recent episode.* OK, while “WandaVision,” got off to a slow start— all this toying around with sitcom tropes and no story — all its ideas of grief and trauma have really bubbled up to the surface, and much of the mystery has coalesced, And while there’s still a great ambiguity about the Hex, and the larger meaning of everything (are the Twins real??) now that Agnes, aka Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), has revealed herself to be the big bad behind it all, the show is really cooking.

But people can’t keep asking and trying to unpeel its layers. For instance, Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, has rather famously teased a big secret cameo in the show and teased that a major actor will play it.
“There is one character that has not been revealed. And it is very exciting,” he said recently. “It is an actor I’ve longed to work with all of my life. We have some amazing scenes together, and I think the chemistry between us is extraordinary and fireworks on set. I’m really excited for people to see that stuff.”
OK, so that rules out Evan Peters, who plays Imposter Quicksilver, since they already met and haven’t had a lot of much screentime together, but many people have assumed it’s Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), given that Marvel has already made such a big thing about how “WandaVision” connects to “Doctor Strange And The Multiverse of Madness” (which features Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda Maximoff character) and the fact that Bettany and Cumberbatch have shared little to no Marvel screentime together. But nope, that’s not it either.

Paul Bettany Says Dead Vision Was Going To Originally Appear In ‘Avengers: Endgame’
“Some of them are eerily accurate,” he said about the guesses. “But this one that mentions Mephisto? I can’t speak to… right now. Because I’m worried about getting fired.” Is that the eye-opening clue fans are looking for, or is it the aerospace engineer the show has teased that everyone assumes is a reference to the “Fantastic Four“? Time will have to tell, as there are two episodes left of the show.
‘WandaVision’ Teases Trauma & Grief While Playing With The Fantasy Of Sitcom Tropes [Review]
Note, the new, unconfirmed rumor around town is that the eighth episode of “WandaVision” will be 47 minutes long, but who knows (the credits always add seven minutes to that run time)? Because remember, people were recently reverse-engineering things Kevin Feige said to make it appear that the last three episodes of the Marvel series were an hour each, and that’s already been proven false by episode seven. Proceed your hopes with caution.
