Got a Tip?

‘Passengers’ Trailer: Funniest Thing Since ‘Lakeview Terrace’ Trailer

Patrick Wilson is on a roll. One career-ruining roll after another despite a great start(ish) with “Little Children.” This fall, we not only get to see him in “Lakeview Terrace,” (aka, maybe the most unintentionally funny movie of the year) but another fall film, “Passengers.” The thriller-ish/drama is about Anne Hathaway’s alter ego, (or is it her normal ego) Blande Hathaway, who is a grief counselor that takes on a group of plane crash survivors including Wilson who all give their recollections of the disaster – of which some say include an explosion the airline claims never happened. As a result of the crash, the secretive Wilson character develops some, let’s say strange tendencies.

He has visions of animals he knows are dead and when he touches cars he sees those cheesy car commercials. It sounds super absurd and with lines like, “It’s my dog. He’s buried in my mom’s backyard. He died when I was six,” and the trailer narrator whose work rivals that of the annoying “Deja Vu” trailer, this is sure to be one of the years most awful films.

Wilson is probably lucky that general audiences don’t even know his name, let alone his face yet, so by the time “Watchmen” comes out, he won’t have a developed dislike of his work. The trailer is online and it is worth a few unintentional laughs, so check it out if you dare.
